Liam's homecoming 1/1/09 Happy New Year!

All the tests came back normal and it was time to take our baby boy home. We were so thrilled! A weird experience...didn't get home until about 11pm, but we were thrilled anyway.

Visiting Liam in the NICU

They let me out of the hospital a day early so I could go visit with Liam on New Year's Eve. Of course we had a big snow and that prolonged what seemed like a lifetime before I got to hold him again. So far, all the tests were normal and he wasn't having any further difficulty breathing.

Happy Birthday Liam

Well it only took 25 hours of labor and 2 1/2 hours of pushing and Happy Birthday Liam! Unfortunately, we had a rocky start. The Pediatrician thought his lung might be a little immature and thought he was having some difficulty breathing. They transferred him to Stony Brook University Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Daddy met him there so he wasn't alone. It was all very sad, but everyone at both hospitals took good care of us all.

Arrival of Liam Anderson Springer

Sorry for the delay on this. It's been quite a whirlwind. Liam came a bit early as many of you know...it was rather unexpected. It started the morning of 12/29/08. I had been sick with a cold which I caught right before Christmas and then caught quite a stomach virus. I was sick with the stomach virus from 12/27-12/28. Felt better 12/29, but went into labor first thing in the morning!!! Liam wasn't due until 1/21/09, but one your water breaks, there's no going back. Here's a before belly shot! Please note my suitcase in the background which I had to pack that morning! I was planning on packing one on 1/1/09 and insisted to friends that I "had plenty of time".
